AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. The team made her professional debut and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan was then just 22 years old. older, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which she finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semifinal match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was the second player in the United States to have 20 assists and 28 goals in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth most popular player in the world to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was named a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was also included in the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
