Najarra was aware of what she wished to do with her life at the age of was just three years old. When she was a child she started modeling along with performing on local stages. Her involvement in plays and musicals through the rest of her teens. In the film "Menace", she co-starred when she was ten years old. Najarra received international recognition for her performance in "Me as well as You and Everyone We know", which won the Sundance as well as Cannes awards in 2005.
