Sharon Yvonne Stone is the only child of Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, an engineer and tool maker. She was also a worker in a factory. Her birth date was 10 March 1958in Meadville Pennsylvania. Michael, Kelly and Patrick are three of her siblings. Stone was thought to be an academically talented child when she began the second grades at five. Saegertown School situated in Saegertown Pennsylvania was her high school. Her graduation was in 1975. In addition, she competed in and won at the Miss Pennsylvania beauty contest. Stone was moved to New Jersey in 1977 with her aunt to pursue a career as an actress. Within a month, she was signed with Ford Modeling Agency. Stone soon moved to Europe for a time, and lived with her aunt in Milan and Paris. Stone was, however, dissatisfied with the acting and modeling in Europe. Stone decided to pursue her career as an actress during the time living in Europe. At the age of 20, she appeared in Woody Allen's "Stardust Memories" a film that received mixed praises.
